DIY Holiday Potpourri

Ohh, how we love the cozy, warm holiday season! Let's be honest, many of us just get through spring and summer to finally arrive at fall and wintertime again... There's just nothing like it! Thanksgiving and Christmas... We live for it!

Today, we're bringing you a fan-favorite DIY recipe that will brighten up any space for the holidays. I can already smell the fresh clove, cinnamon, and citrus. Ohh, yes! No need for chemical-filled, synthetic fragrances to fill your home with the smell of holiday cheer! This DIY is cheaper and smells better than any candle you could buy at the store.

Another great thing about this DIY is that it can be used 3 or 4 times before making a new batch. You get a lot of bang for your buck!

Pro Tip: This DIY makes the perfect holiday gift!

Okay, let's get to it!

DIY

Ingredients:

  • 2 oranges
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 inches of ginger
  • 2-3 tbsp. clove buds
  • 4-6 cups of water

Directions:

  • Obviously this can all be adjusted to your preference but this is a good starting point.
  • Bring to boil, stir, then let simmer and enjoy the smell of Christmas!

We like to adjust the ratios and add other ingredients, like essential oils, to our potpourris! Get creative! Perhaps some fresh cinnamon, ginger, clove herbs, and peppermint essential oil for a Christmasy candy cane aroma! Yum!

Or maybe fresh ginger and cinnamon, and a dash of rosemary essential oil to brighten up your home for Thanksgiving!
